The action film “Chhaava,” directed by Laxman Utekar and starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has done very well at the box office since its release last week. The movie received good reviews from both critics and audiences, making it a hit for Valentine’s Day.
According to early reports from Sacnilk, “Chhaava” made ₹24 crore on its first Monday, bringing its total earnings to ₹140.50 crore in just four days. The film opened with an impressive ₹31 crore on its first day, breaking the record previously held by “Gully Boy,” which opened to ₹19.40 crore. The film saw a big jump in earnings over the weekend, making ₹37 crore on Saturday and ₹48.5 crore on Sunday.
“Chhaava” has quickly become one of the highest-grossing films of 2025. Vicky Kaushal, who plays the historical figure Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, said this role was the toughest he has ever taken on. In an interview with ANI, he talked about the hard work he put into preparing for the role.
“Playing such a historical figure requires a lot of discipline, and discipline is tough. If you are not used to it, it can be very challenging because it’s not just a one-month commitment; it’s a commitment for one and a half to two years,” Vicky explained. He expressed pride in taking on this difficult role, saying, “I’m happy to say this is the toughest role I’ve played so far. I hope to keep growing, not just as an actor but as a person, with every role I take on.”
“Chhaava” is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and features other talented actors like Akshaye Khanna and Diana Penty. The music for the film was composed by A.R. Rahman. In the movie, Vicky plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika plays his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. Akshaye Khanna plays the villain Aurangzeb, and Diana Penty plays his daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa Begum.
As “Chhaava” continues to do well at the box office, it shows that audiences are enjoying its exciting story and strong performances.
