A complaint has been made against famous film director and choreographer Farah Khan for allegedly calling the festival of Holi “a festival for the chhapris,” which is considered a disrespectful term. The complaint was filed on Friday at the Khar Police Station after her comments were aired on an episode of Celebrity MasterChef on February 20. The person who filed the complaint is Vikash Fhatak, also known as Hindustani Bhau.
According to reports, Fhatak’s lawyer, Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, said that Farah’s comments hurt the feelings of Hindus. He mentioned that using the term “chhapris” to describe a sacred festival is very inappropriate and could create problems between communities.
The complaint explains that Farah Khan, a well-known figure in Bollywood, made offensive remarks about the Hindu festival of Holi. It asks the police to take legal action against her under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), seeking justice for her comments.
So far, Farah Khan has not responded to the situation. She is one of the judges on the cooking show, along with Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar.
Farah Khan is famous for her work as a choreographer, having created popular dance routines for songs like “Dhol Bajne Laga,” “Chaiyya Chaiyya,” and “Ek Pal Ka Jeena.” She has also directed hit films such as Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007), Tees Maar Khan (2010), and Happy New Year (2014).
