As Maha Shivratri gets closer on February 26, actor Akshay Kumar has worked with singer Dr. Palash Sen to create a new song called “Mahakal Chalo.” The song was released today and features both Akshay and Palash singing together to celebrate the festival.
Palash explained how the song was made. He said that when composer Vikram Montrose first contacted him, he recorded some parts in his studio in Delhi and then went to Mumbai to finish the song. “It’s a duet, featuring Akshay and me,” he mentioned.
Palash praised Akshay for his musical talent, calling him “a true musician at heart.” He said, “It was great to work with Akshay, who is a big star but still very humble and respectful. He’s very professional. When we got to the set, he knew the whole song by heart, while I was still trying to remember the lyrics. He kept saying he’s not a singer, but I think he sings really well.”
Palash also talked about how he sometimes feels left out in Bollywood, but he was happy that Akshay wanted to work with him. He said, “If Akshay likes a song, he knows how to make it work. He’s open to trying new things. We didn’t know each other before, but he invited me to join him.”
The music video for “Mahakal Chalo” has choreography by Ganesh Acharya and shows both Palash and Akshay performing together, celebrating their bond through a song for Lord Mahadev.
With the release of “Mahakal Chalo,” fans can look forward to a special tribute as they prepare for Maha Shivratri. This collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Dr. Palash Sen brings together Bollywood and indie music, giving a fresh feel to devotional songs.
