Recently, rumors about Bollywood actor Govinda possibly getting a divorce from his wife, Sunita Ahuja, after nearly 38 years of marriage have been making headlines. In an interview with news agency, Arti Singh, Govinda’s niece and an actress, spoke out against these rumors, calling them “baseless gossip.”
Arti explained, “I am not in Mumbai right now, so I haven’t been in touch with anyone. But let me tell you—this news is false. Their bond is very strong. They have built a loving relationship over the years, so how can they get divorced? I don’t know where these rumors come from—they are completely untrue. People should stop spreading false information about their personal lives. I also had rumors about my own divorce that were not true. This kind of gossip only causes unnecessary stress.”
Despite Arti’s comments, a source told ETimes that Sunita had sent a separation notice a few months ago, but nothing has happened since then. Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, added, “There have been some issues between the couple because of certain statements made by family members. There is nothing more to it, and Govinda is busy starting a new film. We are trying to resolve the situation.”
Govinda and Sunita first met before he became famous. They met when Govinda was in his last year of college and Sunita was in Class 9, as they are related through family. Their relationship grew as Govinda was starting his film career, and after dating for three years, they got married on March 11, 1987. They have two children: a daughter named Tina Ahuja and a son named Yashvardhan.
So far, Govinda and Sunita have not publicly commented on the divorce rumors, leaving fans curious about their relationship.
