Vishnu also talked about how he convinced Akshay Kumar to join the film. Akshay said no at first but later agreed to play the role of Lord Shiva, which Vishnu thinks is very important for today’s audience. In Kannappa, Mohanlal will play a character named Kirata, and Prabhas will be The Divine Guardian Rudra.
The movie is based on the story of Bhakta Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. Vishnu Manchu will play the main character, and Kajal Aggarwal will be Goddess Parvati. The film was shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024, where it got a great response. Vishnu shared his excitement online, saying, “We showcased the teaser of Kannappa here in Cannes, and it received an overwhelmingly positive response! Everyone who saw it absolutely loved it.”
